Primer Minister Gordon Brown lead the mourners at the funeral of Glenrothes MP John MacDougall on Monday.
THE TRIBUTES at the funeral of town MP John MacDougall were led by Prime Minister Gordon Brown.
John MacDougall (60), who served Fife as a politician for over 30 years, was laid to rest on Monday following a service at Burntisland's Erskine Church.
Mr Brown arrived at the service with his wife Sarah.
Hundreds of mourners attended and among them were family, friends and a number of UK cabinet ministers including Defence Secretary Des Browne and International Development Secretary Douglas Alexander.
The funeral was led by retired minister and family friend John Allan and a eulogy was given by another close friend of Mr MacDougall's Scott Brady, who worked in the MP's constituency office.
A lone piper played in the mourners who also included former Scottish first minister Jack McConnell, ex-Liberal Democrat leader Sir Menzies Campbell and former Labour first minister Henry McLeish.
