Regional figure increases as Scottish total hits 85

Fife’s total rose by one, according to the latest figures issued by the Scottish Government.

The Kingdom now has four positive cases, making it the second ;lowest total on any region north of the border.

The latest update comes after a day of widespread cancellation of events, with sport bearing the brunt.

The region’s four football teams have seen all fixtures suspended, while the remaining games in the 2019-20 ice hockey season have also been postponed.

New restrictions on large crowds come into force from Monday.

First Minister, Nicola Sturgeon, has said, any large scale events should be cancelled, and, in her latest update, she has warned people to anticipate disruption to their daily lives because of the virus’ outbreak.

A number of care homes across Fife have introduced restrictions on visitors to protect the health of their elderly residents.
