HAVING made it through to the third round of the Scottish Junior Cup, Tayport now turn their attention back to the battle for league points.

Willie Garner's side travel to meet Camelon at Carmuirs Park tomorrow (Saturday).

The two teams currently occupy the bottom two positions in the table, so both outfits will be especially keen to chalk up a victory this weekend.

Last year, Ca
melon were far more consistent in the league and finished much higher than 'Port, but the Canniepairt men had the better of the two Super League clashes.

In a cracking game at Carmuirs Park, the first fixture of 2008, Tayport came from the brink of defeat to snatch a draw in what was a six-goal thriller.

Brian Craik, who was injured in scoring, Ronnie Kenneth and Stephen McAllister were on the mark that afternoon, while Derek Wemyss and Darren Scott netted in the return match, as Tayport won 2-1, back in May.

Willie Garner, who is looking to add to his squad in the coming weeks, hopes to have all of the current pool available for selection on Saturday.

Barry McNaughton was missing against Arbroath SC, due to work commitments, while Stefan Elvin, although under the weather, occupied a place on the bench. Both players should be in contention to face Camelon.

One bonus for Garner was the return to action of Ronnie Kenneth, who came off the bench against ASC and was close to a comeback goal, only to be foiled by the 'keeper, following a sharp turn inside the area.

The striker could well have a role to play at Carmuirs Park, albeit again as a substitute.

Kick-off is scheduled for 2 p.m. and supporters should 'phone the Tayport F.C. newsline, on 01382 552755, for all of the latest news.
