The game represents an immediate reunion for new 'Port boss Iain Jenkins, who quit the North End Park hot-seat towards the end of last term.

The fact that the Dokens are now managed by ex-Lochee United chief, Eddie Wolecki, adds extra spice to the occasion, which kicks off at 6.45 p.m.

Thus far, results in the pre-season programme have not been favourable. First up, there was a Canniepairt defeat against a youthful Cowdenbeath XI, before the annual trip to the north of England.

With several players unavailable to manager Jenkins, the Tayport party was actually supplemented by members of that Cowden' squad.

'Port suffered two defeats, the first a 3-1 reversal against Tow Law Town, then, the very next day, a 4-0 loss at Durham City.

On their return to home action, an East Fife XI inflicted another defeat last midweek, with a late Stevie Nicholas winner on the Canniepairt.

Last Saturday, visiting Arthurlie scored one in each half to win another friendly encounter, leaving 'Port without a pre-season victory, as they headed into Monday evening's match at Kinnoull.

There, Tayport finally earned a victory, winning by the odd goal in three.

Four ex-'Port players lined up for 'Noull, who took the lead on the half hour. Robbie Holden headed an equaliser, then Brian Craik netted a winner, having been set up by youngster, Mike Gray.

Holden is one of the club's new acquisitions, having returned to the Canniepairt following four prolific years at Kinnoull.

He will be expected to provide a significant goal threat as 'Port bid to recapture the glory days.

Ross Gunnion and Steven McAllister, have made the trip in the opposite direction, signing for the Tulloch Parkers.

McAllister had just one, injury-hit season at the club, whereas Gunnion was much more established, a regular in the side which won two Scottish Junior Cups and two East Super League titles.

That duo, effectively, are replaced by two players from North End.
Right-back Steve Fallon has signed from the Dokens, as has midfield play-maker Adam O'Connor.

Both of them have performed well in the pre-season friendlies and will have a significant role to play in Tayport's quest for silverware.

Another newcomer is 19-year-old Stefan Elvin, who has been released by Dundee.

He is another who has shown up well in his appearances to date.
