FIFE Flyers have made a triple signing swoop, fending off interest from rival clubs in the process.
With two months to go until the new season face-off, Flyers increased their roster size to seven with the capture of Blair Daly, Stephen Gunn and Jamie Wilson.

SportsPress understands that Dundee Stars approached Daly about a possible move across
the Tay, but coach Todd Dutiaume is delighted his netminder has pledged to continue in Flyers colours.

"We're looking to retain the services of the core of our team," Dutiaume said.

"There is a lot of interest in our players, because we generally only employ very good ones, and it's something we have to deal with on a yearly basis.

"Blair is the best goalie in the league so it's only natural our rivals would be interested.

"We've managed to keep not only him, but three keystones of our team, which we're thrilled with, and we're looking forward to announcing a couple more next week."

Dundee caused the signing sensation of last summer by capturing John Haig from Fife, but the boot could be on the other foot this summer with Stars' top forward John Dolan linked with a move to Kirkcaldy.

Dutiaume, however, attempted to pour cold water over the rumours, stating: "I don't know what John Dolan is up to.

"I bumped into him in the ice rink a few weeks ago and before you know it Chinese whispers start and we're supposed to have signed him.

"I can say that we certainly haven't signed anyone new and I'll re-iterate, I'm loyal to my players.

"I want to give every player from our championship team first crack at filling the jerseys for next season."

New league rules have opened the door to a possible second import joining Flyers ranks and Dutiaume admitted that he is actively seeking to recruit someone from overseas.

"Now that the rules are in place and I see teams in our league filling their import slots it's time to press forward with this," he said.

"Hopefully within the next couple of weeks we'll have confirmation of someone coming to Fife. I'm not going to close the door to anybody, but I would enjoy having another Canadian in the line-up.

"We can't wait until after the season has started because, as Dundee showed last season, if you have a bad start you can be stuck behind the eight-ball."
